COPYING COUPONS - BIG NO NO!!!

I have been asked by some of the store managers to remind everyone what the misuse of coupons are.

  • You should never make a copy, scan or fax of a printable coupon in any way.  There are lots of security features built into these coupons.  While they may scan in the grocery store – the store will never get reimbursed for them.
  • Don’t intentionally use expired coupons.  If your store has said that it is okay, you should still ask before using one on every trip.  Most stores DO NOT allow any.
  • Always follow the words on the coupon.  If it says it is for a 8 oz box, then buy the size indicated.  While it might work for another size or even product that is fraudulent use of the coupon.

  1. I was accused of copying coupons just the other day at Publix. I absolutely did NOT copy coupons! It was one that I printed from their own website ($6/2 Enfamil). They said I copied it from the ad. It made me so mad!

  2. Do you feel that printing a coupon twice is considered fraud? I have always wondered this about internet printable coupons. Please, address. Thank You.

  3. The unique 2-D barcode on the upper left is a different number for every coupon you print, even for a second print of the same coupon.

  4. My husband likes trying to save money and he refuses to get color ink for our printer. Am I doing any harm in printing out my coupons in black and white only? I did have a girl accuse me of copying a Stake and Shake coupon the other day. The coupon was actually e-mailed to me by her company and even said that the clerk was supposed to ask for my ID. If she had bothered to ask, it would have saved me the headache and frustration of being accused as a "thief"!
